Overview

Joey by Get Your Joey is a fantastic packing pouch. Joey allows you to pack in any underwear you have instead of buying individual packing underwear that you can only wear once until you have to wash them again! It’s a great product from a little trans-owned Canadian Company. All the products are handmade and are very durable. They carry many different types of pouches (some without holes, some for swimming, some for sports), but for this review, I’m going to be focusing on their basic model.

The Great

  • Can be used in every type of underwear you own!
  • Very budget-friendly
  • They have a bunch of different patterns to choose from

The Not-so-Great

  • Some people don’t like the peen to stick out of the hole (they do have versions without holes!)
  • You have to poke a hole through your underwear elastic, which can wear our your underwear quicker.

Unboxing

Comes in a simple clear plastic bag.

I know a lot of people wonder what the actual shipping box looks like and it’s tough to really say because this prosthetic is sold by many different online retailers. If you are ever unsure, you can always message the company you are purchasing from and ask them what they put on the box! The retailer that I prefer is Early2Bed/Trans Essentials and I can tell you that living in Canada and receiving a package from the USA, I’m always terrified the customs declaration form is going to say something like “big wiener”. Luckily, that has never happened with Early2Bed. They also didn’t even put the return address as “Early2Bed” they put “ETB” or “FTME”.

Color

I literally could not possibly show you all the colors they offer because they offer SO many designs and they change all the time! Here are just SOME examples:

Size

Again, there are A LOT of options here!

Classic: Has a hole (you can also get no hole) in the to put your packer shaft through. Size: 4″ x 7″.

Ballsy: Similar to the Classic, but it’s a little longer and the area under the hold is bigger to hold packers with bigger balls. Size: 4″ x 8″. You can also get this with no hole.

Bantam: Narrower than the Classic with a smaller hole. Size: 3.5″ x 7″

Buck Joeys (Classic and Ballsy): Have an extra 4.5″ long attachment top. Classic size 4″ x 11.25″. Ballsy size: 4″ x 12.5″

Sport Joeys: Made out of quick dry polyester. Size 4″ x 7″

Swimmer: Made of quick-drying mesh. Size 4″ x 7″

Material and Feel

Depending on which Joey you get, the materials will be different. Make sure you look at the above section for a breakdown of materials by model. The most popular one, the Classic, the material on the back of the Joey (the part that will be touching you) is very soft and the material has moisture wicking properties. The front of the joey is made of a different fabric that is less soft and a little …. Stiffer?  Kind of like a duvet cover when we were kids. A little scratchy?

There is an elastic in the hole to help keep your packer in place.

Packing

This product is MADE for packing, but the question is, is it GOOD for packing? The answer is yes! Depending on which packer you have, the Joey is a great companion to have in order to hold your packer in place and make sure it doesn’t fly out! It can happen, however, that a packer is not compatible with Joey, so be sure to look at the shape and size of your packer before committing! They do offer other models for packers with bigger balls!

Some people have issues with the peen sticking out of the hole. It makes look like a semi-erect penis in loose-fitting underwear, especially if you’re packing with the Mr. Limpy (small), where the shaft sticks out. It’s recommended to use a packer that naturally has a downward angle. Also, the company does sell a version without a hole!

TIP: If you have a fav pair of underwear, you should know where those holes are so you don’t have to make new holes each time you put it on). I also make sure to put the hole in the seam so it doesn’t show anywhere noticeable on the underwear.

Cleaning and Care

I recommend hand washing this or throwing it in the washing machine. Do not put this in the dryer as it can shrink!

Please read the labels and instructions given by the company as these can sometimes be different and change. But for real, clean it at least once a week. The great thing about this product is you don’t have to buy 5+ pairs of different packing underwear that you have to constantly wash to make sure you have one  available at all times. This you can use in every single pair you have. Just remember that we get sweaty and gross, so please wash it!

Full Rating

Durability 4/5

Hand-made and well-made!

Packability 5/5

Very easy and nice to pack with!

Budget Friendly 5/5

Only $20! And you can use it in every pair of underwear you own!

STP Friendly 1/5

The Classic and Ballsy are not made for STPs. The company has released an STP version which I plan to review in the future.

Final Thoughts

At only $20, this packing pouch is an absolute winner! It’s not perfect, there’s some pros and some cons. But if you’re looking to buy something to test out different packer holder gear, this one should be on your list!
